1 Year Old! {Part 2)

Weight: 21 lbs

Favorite Foods: Bananas, plums, peaches, chicken, grilled cheese, carrots, and more bananas

Favorite Toys: Monkey w/iphone, anything you can push around, books, your guitar, and your new BIG pit stop that takes up half of the living room

Favorite Show: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

You had your very 1st Birthday Party - Mickey Mouse Style

You stand on your own so much

You took your first few steps

You learned how to clap

You learned how to wave Hi/Bye Bye

You bite when you get excited

You love to lay on your belly to play

You had tubes put in your ears

If we are eating, you HAVE to have bites of it

10 Months Old

See my teeth?!?!

This Month:

9 & 12 Month Clothes

Size 3 diapers

You have 4 teeth!! 2 on top and 2 on bottom

Words: Mama, Dada

Favorite toys: Walker, guitar, books, and anything that isn't yours

Favorite foods: anything and everything except yogurt

You are loving graham crackers, bananas and watermelon

You are starting to like real food more and 3rd foods are easy for you now

You love to be in your walker and explore through the whole house

You cruise {walk} along the furniture

You walk while pushing your toys

You baby talk constantly as well as squeal loudly, very loudly!

You love your new sitter, Brittany

You still love to watch Mickey Mouse

You are always so happy and so playful

You laugh all the time! :-)

Parker baby, you are growing so fast! Daddy and I are so proud of how much you are learning and doing! We love you so much sweet boy!

9 Months Old

This Month:

19.6 lbs

27 1/2 inches
6-9 month & some 12 month clothes
Size 3 diapers

1st Tooth: June 25

2nd Tooth: just a couple days after the 1st :-)
Words: Mama, Dada

You are crawling and pulling up like a champ
You are beginning to cruise {walk} along the furniture

You are learning how to put yourself to sleep at naps and bedtime
Favorite toys: Ocean tunnel, shape house, ring stack, and anything you aren't supposed to have (remote, daddy's hats, cell phones, ipad, camera)

You love to eat puffs because you get to pick them up by yourself

New 'real' foods that you love: Bananas, watermelon, peas, mashed potatoes, puffs, and yogurt melts

You are not a big fan of regular yogurt.

You are eating some 3rd foods and the texture is very new to you
You love being in your walker now that you figured out how to go forwards

You love spending so much time with Mommy and Daddy since I'm off for summer break

Parker, you are everywhere these days! You keep Mommy and Daddy very busy!! We had to put a baby gate up to keep you out of the kitchen. You are such a silly boy and a joy to have in our life! We love you Parker!

Sleeping Update

It's safe to say that Parker was very spoiled to me rocking him any/every time he wanted to sleep. He is taking a bit longer to adjust but there is improvement!

Night time is a lot easier for him because he has been sleeping in his crib but I had rocked him first. We are down to about 10 minutes of crying/whimpering before he falls asleep.

Naps have been tough. Very. Tough.

I have always rocked him during every nap, the entire time he slept. I will never do that again. He has cried and so have I.

Today was the best nap day so far. He took 2 naps in his crib and one was for 1 1/2 hours! He is crying about 20 minutes still.

It's been a pretty stinky week here. On top of trying to teach P to fall asleep on his own, he has double ear infections. This ended up probably being the worst week to start sleep training. He doesn't feel good and really wants his Momma.

Thankfully, we are making progress. I think we will both survive. I am very ready for him to not cry at all!

Teething and Not Sleeping

Parker has 2 teeth now. One has the bottom part broken through and the other one has just a small corner through. My poor baby is hurting. It's making it hard for him to sleep.

He only wants Mommy to rock him while sleeping. He can be sound asleep in my arms and the moment I lay him down in his crib, he wakes up.

I'm exhausted. Dead. Tired.

This is something everyone said during pregnancy, "Sleep as much as you can now," "Sleep now because you won't be able to when he comes."

Well they were right but you are never prepared for how much you will actually miss sleeping.

So last night I felt like I had to do something about Parker wanting to be rocked. My mom has said a few times that I was the same way and she had to let me cry it out in the crib.

I laid him down and let him cry until he fell asleep.

It was the longest 45 minutes. And I cried the entire time and even when he was asleep. That was hard on me. But he slept until 7 o'clock.

Now naps . . . Parker will only nap if I'm rocking him. Sound familiar? So right now as I type this, he is crying in his crib. This time I have my ipad in his room and Pandora is playing country music. {the entire time I was pregnant, Keith would play his guitar and Parker would go crazy in my belly}

He loves country music. It soothes him.

From now on, I am going to turn on some country music, lay P in his crib, and walk away.

I may need some prayers. Listening to your baby cry is so hard.

I am happy to say that Parker fell asleep during all of this. :-) Now I will have Mommy time to do whatever I may need {or want} to do. That part is exciting!

On a separate note, we found a new sitter for P and I am beyond thrilled with who we found. She is a friend of mine and I have known her for like forever! She has 3 kiddos of her own, 2 are in school and the other one is home with her during the day. She will only be keeping Parker and her little girl! I know he will be in great hands!
